Each bowl comes with a suede covered striker or for bowls larger than 16 inches, a rubber mallet. Prior to playing, attune to positive energy by setting your intent or saying an affirmation. Hold the striker like you would a large pencil. This enable you to control the pressure you put on the bowl. Lightly but firmly, rub the striker clockwise around (not on) the outside rim of the bowl.   If you have a difficult time teasing the the bowl into play, it can be started by using the striker to gently strike the outside rim of the bowl three times. Once the sound has started, continue to run the striker around the outside rim, holding firmly as the resonance begins to build and until the desired vibration is reached. Be aware that too much intensity could cause breakage. Remove the striker and allow the bowl to continue resonating as you tune in; absorb the energy and allow it to touch your soul. Sometimes a bowl doesn’t play very well after receiving it.  This will improve. You will find that each bowl reflects back the state you are in, so if it isn’t playing well, that is a sign that this is a chakra which needs some work to bring it into harmony.
